BRYCE CANYON, Utah – Nearly 3,000 marijuana plants were seized Monday near Bryce Canyon, and police captured a suspect after a chase through the marijuana garden.
Nester Obregon Perez, 34, was arrested at the scene after trying to flee from police. Police seized about 2,800 plants.
Police said they are concerned because the marijuana grow is within a quarter of a mile of a popular camping spot on Griffon Mountain. Police have asked residents in the area to report any suspicious activity to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
