Wedding crashers arrested after allegedly stealing cash

Posted

PRICE, Utah – Two alleged thieves who crashed a wedding to steal cash were chased and apprehended by police Friday night.

Officers said Richard Duran and Tarnya Muir crashed a wedding reception being held at a church owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The mother of the groom said she saw Muir put cards given to the bride and groom into her purse. One of the woman’s daughters knocked Muir down, but Duran stepped in and the pair escaped.

The father of the groom chased them and called police. Police responded and arrested the pair, and they recovered the cards and about $500 in cash the pair had taken from the reception.

Duran and Muir were booked into the Carbon County Jail.
