EMERY COUNTY, Utah — SR-31 through Huntington Canyon closed Friday due to extensive flood damage.
Utah Department of Transportation officials said July storms over the Seeley Fire burn scar caused heavy flooding, which resulted in road damage.
UDOT officials said debris have been cleared from the roadway, but there is an area near milepost 30 where the road has been undercut and damaged extensively. They said crews are hauling in materials to make a passage lane through the damaged area, and they expect the road to be reopened by Friday afternoon.
