WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Nearly $100,000 worth of damage was caused in a house fire in West Valley City Tuesday evening.
The homeowner was alerted by his alarm company at approximately 5:30 p.m. that his home, located at 6141 W. Terrace Ridge Drive, was on fire. No one was at the residence when the flames erupted.
Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a lot of smoke. They went into a defensive attack mode until firefighters got the blaze under control.
Officials estimate $80,000 to $100,000 worth in damage.
Firefighters completed their investigation inside the home and are now looking outside the residence before determining a cause.
