SALT LAKE CITY -- The Unified Police Department motorcycle squad hope to be a show stopper in Salt Lake City's Pioneer Day Parade, police officials said Tuesday.

The motorcade with perform formations in unison throughout the parade route. Lt. Justin Hoyle said the officers are dedicated and have a lot of fun.

The squad was out since 6:30 a.m. practicing its routine.

"They work very well together and they have to -- they come within inches of crashing into each other and keep it going, which keeps the crowd mesmerized," Hoyle said. "And they have a lot of fun doing it."
