WEST VALLEY CITY -- Police in West Valley City arrested four juveniles early Wednesday morning after a high-speed chase.

It started when a woman woke up and heard someone rummaging through her kitchen. She assumed it was one of her children until she heard her husband's Chevy pickup start up and leave the scene.

"We were in the process of responding out there when one of the officers located the victim's vehicle in the area just south of 35th South and about 3200 West," said a West Valley City officer who spoke to FOX 13 News Wednesday morning. "He tried to initiate a stop. They immediately fled [and] a chase ensued."

West Valley City police said the chase lasted about three to four minutes and reached speeds of up to 90 mph.

The chase ended when the driver of the stolen truck lost control and crashed into a ditch. Police arrested four juveniles, ranging in ages from 14-17, in connection with crimes.

The homeowner said two more suspects tried to enter his garage in an attempt to steal his Jeep.

The juveniles could face several charges, including a first-degree felony charge since they allegedly operated as a group.
