Woman suspected in Cottonwood Heights home invasion

Posted

A 52-year-old woman was arrested for a home invasion Tuesday morning, Cottonwood Heights police reported.

Barbara Henderson allegedly entered the home through an unlocked back door around 6 a.m. The homeowner told police she woke up to find the intruder in her bedroom.

Henderson reportedly went running and the homeowner called police.

The victim’s purse and backpack were found in Henderson’s car. She’s now charged with a second-degree felony burglary.

“I know it is hot and sometimes it is easier to leave a door ajar or a window open, but it does leave an access or an entry point for burglars if they are up to no good,” said Sgt. Gary Young. “It would be advisable to please make sure your home is secure before you go to bed that night, so that this doesn’t happen again.”

Police are investigation Henderson for another burglary in South Salt Lake.
