TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – A family of seven was displaced after their home caught on fire Friday afternoon.
Firefighters said flames and smoke were billowing out of a second-story window when they arrived at 2060 N Churchwood Drive in Tooele County.
Utah Red Cross officials said they sent a volunteer team to help the displaced family. Firefighters said there were no injuries reported.
Firefighters were unable to enter the home initially, and they fought the blaze for about two hours before it was extinguished.
Ryan Willden, spokesman for the North Tooele County Fire District, said they believe the house was empty when the fire started.
“As far as we’re aware, there was nobody home at the time,” he said. “A neighbor saw it and called in to 911 to report it.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
