OGDEN — An Ogden man stabbed a man in the hand with a pitchfork after an argument over food, Ogden police said Friday morning.

Police responded to 626 27th Street on a report of assault. Louie Wayne Ash, 54, got into an argument with a woman over some food and iced tea, said Lt. Will Cragun.

Ash reportedly pushed the woman who was knocked out.

The victim’s boyfriend stepped in and the two men got into a pushing match, according to a probable cause statement.

“Ash picked up a pitchfork and stabbed the male in the left hand causing one of the forks to go through the hand,” according to the statement.

Alcohol appears to be involved, Cragun said.

Ash was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and was booked into Weber County Jail.
