PARK CITY – A designer wallet containing valuables was found on the side of the road, and the person who found it turned it in to authorities.

The wallet was found in Park City, and inside was a $10,000 check, $1,000 in cash and credit cards.

A woman visiting from Ohio found the wallet near a high traffic intersection just off Main Street.

The woman turned the wallet into police Tuesday afternoon. The owner of the wallet, Daniel Harwin, said the return of the wallet is not something he would expect in his home town.

“My thoughts are: It’s pretty consistent with where we are,” he said. “I sorta think that’s how the people in Utah are. Even though someone that found it was not from here, I think people here are very honest and fair, and I was very relieved. I live in Miami, and that’s something that would never ever happen in Miami, I can assure you of that.”

In addition, Harwin said he takes this as a sign that he needs to move to Utah.

Police said there is nothing suspicious about the event.
