RIVERTON, Utah – A woman returned home to find her dog had died after being shot with a BB gun Thursday.
Heather Anderson found their family dog, Lucky, under their Riverton home and realized he wasn’t breathing.
"When I pulled him out from underneath the house, I was hysterical, pretty much,” she said.
Anderson said she thought the dog may have been bitten by a spider, but as she was looking for the bite she found a hole in the dog’s side.
A veterinarian who examined Lucky later told Anderson there were two BB gun bullets inside the dog—one in his lung and one in his back. Anderson said she was told Lucky likely died due to a collapsed lung.
Police officials said they are investigating the incident, but they said they don’t have much evidence to work with.
