U of U unveils new football facility

SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah celebrated the opening of its brand new football facility Thursday.

The state of the art facility took more than 18 months and more than $30 million to complete.

The project was pushed forward by Spence and Cleone Eccles. It was the final project that Cleone Eccles undertook with her husband before she passed away.

Donors, dignitaries and the coaches all agree that the facility will greatly benefit the players. Some players, like senior Trevor Reilly, said the building is already making an impact.

"Already a difference between this year and last year is the team camaraderie," Reilly said. "I think this facility has a lot to do with that."

Reilly went on to say that players don't ever want to leave the facility, which is equipped with video games, televisions and food.
