FARR WEST CITY — Customers of the Pineview Water Systems have been asked to immediately reduce their water use by at least 50 percent, according to a release from Pine View Water Systems.
The reduction is to last for the remainder of the watering season through Oct. 1.
Water supplies are very low due to the extremely hot and dry summer, the release stated. Residents have been asked to cut back watering for the remainder of August to once every five days and in September once every seven days.
“If this is not adhered to we will be out of water by mid-September,” the release stated.
Pineview Water Systems does not allow watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be increased monitoring of water use and excessive watering of any type will not be allowed, the release stated.
Wasteful use of water or failure to comply with the regulations will result in the loss of water service for the remainder of the water season and $500 charge to re-establish service next year.
