Doctors at a hospital in Australia successfully removed a fork from a 70-year-old man’s urethra, according to a case report published in the International Journal of Surgery.

The patient had inserted the fork in his penis “to achieve sexual gratification,” doctors wrote in a case report titled “An Unusual Urethral Foreign Body.”

Twelve hours after inserting the fork, the man went to the Emergency Department at The Canberra Hospital in Garran, a suburb in the Australian Capital Territory.

The fork, as seen in the x-ray photo below, was nearly four inches long. After considering multiple retrieval methods, the attending physicians ultimately used forceps and “copious lubrication” to remove the utensil.
