SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake Police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run accident that happened Thursday night.
Officers said around 9 p.m. a man crashed and rolled his car near 2100 South and 600 East. They said the man left an injured passenger inside the car and fled on foot.
Police said they set up a perimeter and later caught the man. They said they are now investigating why he ran away from the accident.
According to Salt Lake City police, the man could have hit other cars in the area Thursday night.
"The vehicle that was involved in this collision may have struck other vehicles throughout the city," said Salt Lake City police Lt. Josh Scharman. "I know of at least two that we have identified so far that are further north of us near 1700 South and 600 East, and officers are working to identify any vehicles that may have been affected by this."
