TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – The Patch Springs fire was 100 percent contained as of Saturday night, officials said.

The fire burned more than 31,000 acres in Utah’s west desert near Skull Valley.

Eight trailers in a subdivision near the town of Terra were destroyed, as were several outbuildings. The fire began on August 8 after a lightning strike. Terra was evacuated for a time after the fire jumped across State Route 199 and came near several homes.
