MILLCREEK, Utah – A new sidewalk project beginning this week may try the patience of Millcreek residents who live nearby.
Officials said they are making major improvements to the sidewalks along 900 East near 4500 South.
The $200,000 project begins Monday. Patrick Leary, township executive for Salt Lake County, said the community council approached them about safety concerns with the sidewalks, and he said the sidewalks in question will be repaved.
Leary said the people who live near those sidewalks will face some inconveniences.
“The residents who live along the road will be impacted,” he said. “We notified them by hand, and our crews work with them during the construction process. Once the concrete is laid, they won’t be able to use their driveway for seven days while the concrete cures, so we’ll have to make arrangements to help them park on the road, that kind of stuff.”
Leary said residents on the east side of the street will be impacted the most. The project is expected to finish by October 1.
