COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah – A man is behind bars after he allegedly dropped a bag of methamphetamine at a Target store and then came back for it later.
Police said the incident took place at about 8 p.m. Tuesday night when an employee saw the man drop the bag as the man was pulling his cellphone out of his pocket.
The employee took the bag to loss prevention, and a store security employee called police. The suspect returned to the store to find what he had dropped. Sgt. Gary Young of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department said that’s when officers arrested the man.
“Fortunately, we were able to make an arrest, get one more bag off the road, not the brightest criminal I’d guess you’d call it,” he said.
Officers said they also found drug paraphernalia on the man.
