BRIGHAM CITY, Utah — A man is facing attempted homicide charges after police said he left the scene of a crash in Brigham City.

Police said the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Trent Ellsworth, was caught in bed with the wife of another man. After he was caught, officers said he ran into his car wearing nothing but a shirt. They said Ellsworth drove up the driveway and hit the husband, injuring the man’s leg and hip.

Police said Ellsworth allegedly tried to hit the husband again before driving away and hitting another car that was stopped at a stop sign. After that, he allegedly drove back to the victim’s house and then ran off.

Officers said they later found Ellsworth, still pantless, collapsed in a backyard at 500 West 860 North. He was booked into the Box Elder County Jail on attempted homicide charges, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
