SALT LAKE CITY – Police and other volunteers worked to raise funds Saturday for officers who are going through extreme medical or financial difficulties.

The Cruzin for Cops Car and Motorcycle Show was held in Salt Lake City, and it featured the Salt Lake City Police Department’s newly restored 1975 Nova.

Community members and police mingled while they checked out the cars on display, listened to music and participated in an auction to raise funds for officers who are in need of a little help.

Officer Jessica Kilgore of the Salt Lake City Police Department said the event is about coming together to help their unofficial family.

“You know, Christmases, we help officers that can’t afford Christmas for whatever reason, things like that,” she said. “We really try to come together as a family.”

Event organizers said they hope to make the show an annual event. For more information, visit their website.
