TheUtah Food Bankprovided over 28 million meals in Utah last year.
"We distribute product to 135 partner agencies across the state who then in turn get that to the end user," said Ginette Bott, chief marketing officer of the Utah Food Bank. "The audience we serve isn't always the child or the senior citizen. You can't look at someone and tell that they are hungry. Kind of an invisible epidemic, if you will."
Bott said they are seeing more need among college students, for example.
"We're putting panties on college campuses across the state, because students are struggling to stay in school and eat," Bott said.
Veterans in care facilities, soup kitchens in urban areas, and mobile pantries in rural Utah also rely on the food bank.
