OGDEN, Utah -- A Utah family is getting quite a bit of attention for their unconventional pet.
Diane and Kevin Westcott are the proud owners of Gladys-- a house trained goose.
The Westcotts said they started keeping geese in 2003 after reading an article about how great geese are as pets.
Gladys can be found wandering around the Westcott's home, hanging out with the dog and scaring the cat. She gets to sleep on the bed, go to farmer's markets, stores and on vacations.
"The trip to Yellowstone was fun because when we were at Old Faithful, of course she is getting a little bit of attention from the tourists and everybody," she said. "Old Faithful starts to erupt and they're still too busy looking at the goose and I'm going, 'watch the geyser! Watch the geyser! the goose will be here, watch the geyser!'"
Gladys gets a lot of attention wherever the Westcotts taker her, especially when she's sitting in the front seat of their car.
Diane has started writing about Gladys' adventures. The series is called "The Adventures of Gladys the Goose."
