We did a photo shoot at FOX 13 this week, and my latest picture really shows how far I’ve come in this journey. If you look at the picture of me from 2012 and compare it to the photo from this week, you see just how life-changing this journey has been for me. It feels great to see such progress!
I didn’t do anything too exciting this week in my travels out and about. I did do something pretty cool that I haven’t been able to do in a very long time because I have been heavy for so long. I was helping out my son’s Cub Scout pack with their science activity; building packages that would protect a raw egg falling from about 25 feet.
I was “voluntold” (that’s the word when someone else volunteers you) to be the one to climb the ladder and drop the packages from the top of the ladder. I definitely would not have been able to do that 120 pounds ago.
It may seem like a small and insignificant thing, but it is yet another new notch in my proverbial belt of things I am rediscovering that I can do thanks to the weight loss. I’m finding new experiences like this all of the time, and it has made my life more exciting.
Thank you for all of your support, and be sure to follow my Losing for Life journey from the very beginning.
