WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Child abuse charges have been filed against a couple after police said their child tested positive for meth.
Police said Brandie Barnhurst and Brian Carver were charged after they were evicted from a trailer in West Valley City.
Officers said the owner of the trailer complained to police about the couple, and when officers arrived they found a 2-year-old child covered in dirt, and Barnhurst appeared to be high on meth.
According to court documents, the child tested positive for methamphetamine.
Barnhurst and Carver have now been charged with a third degree felony for endangerment of a child.
