Utahns upset with Tea Party over government shutdown protest at congressman’s office

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – Protesters who blame the Tea Party for the government shutdown made their voices heard outside of Utah Congressman Chris Stewart’s office Friday.

Much of the protest’s message focused on the shutdown’s impact on workers—specifically those not working.

The protest was part of a national campaign run by moveon.org that is putting pressure on Congress.

The protesters arrived, but Congressman Stewart’s office was closed and empty, as his staff had been furloughed.

FOX 13 News’ Max Roth spoke with the protesters, as well as with David Kirkham, who organized much of Utah’s Tea Party. Check out the video above to see what they had to say.
