MURRAY, Utah – A candlelight vigil was held Sunday for an infant who died Saturday after sustaining injuries in a four-car wreck that sent an SUV into a creek Friday.

The vigil for 3-month-old Dayton Cook began at 8 p.m. near the site of the crash, which occurred at about 4200 S. State St.

Scott Cook is the child’s great uncle, and he described the moments after the accident.

“I asked where the baby was, and she pointed to the side, and I went over and knelt down and saw that he was struggling to breathe and just saw a hollowness in his eyes and just worked with the paramedics and held his head for a minute,” Cook told FOX 13 News Saturday.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
