Big Budah’s blog: Keeping up with my kids

Posted

Each passing week becomes even busier than the last, as my kids are involved in softball, basketball and football. It is not something new in our family, but there is a difference now compared to the past. Before the weight loss, I would choose one of my kids’ practices and stay there the whole time because I was too tired or lazy to go somewhere else.

These days I am at football practice for 45 minutes, then it’s off to basketball practice for another 45 minutes, and lastly softball practice before rounding up everyone for the trip home. Fortunately for me, all of the practices are within a 5-mile radius.

I am continuing to see results with inches lost on my body. My daughter Jae and two of her Blitz teammates, Nikki & Kasper, fit in to my winter jacket that is now two sizes too big.

I am noticing that I am a lot colder this year than I was 120 lbs. ago. Being a big guy I did give off a lot of heat and rarely felt cold, but now I am noticing that I have to layer a bit more than I have been in the past. It takes a little more time to get dressed for the cold, but I am loving the reason why…weight loss.
