SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah leaders and nonprofit groups gathered to discuss the state of homelessness in Utah at the 10th annual Homeless Summit.

The summit provided leaders with the opportunity to highlight the achievements that have been made to end chronic homelessness and to provide information for future success.

"We have set goals, but there have been actually limited goals we set a plan to end chronic homelessness which is a subset of homelessness," said Gordon Walker, Utah Director of Housing and Community Development. "We probably will never end homelessness because there's many other factors way beyond our control."

Since the 10 year plan to end chronic homelessness in Utah was created, there has been a 74 percent reduction in chronic homelessness in the state.
