Special Olympics athletes compete at U of U

SALT LAKE CITY – Hundreds of athletes from across Utah competed in the Special Olympics Fall Sports Classic this weekend.

More than 800 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Sports Partners competed in four different events at the games: basketball, bocce ball, aquatics and the Motor Activities Training Program.

According to a press release from event organizers, about 350 volunteers and 250 coaches were at the event to support the athletes. The games were held at various venues at the University of Utah.
