DABC clarifies ‘intent to dine’ rule

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Liquor Commission wanted to clarify the “Intent to Dine” law.

The purpose of the law is to ensure customers who drink at eating establishments are also eating – not just consuming alcohol.

There are already signs at restaurants that allude to the law. Restaurants that serve alcohol will now be required to ask the question “Will you be dining with us?”

The commissioners issued the guideline in response to restaurants that are not clear about the current law.
