2 Layton stores evacuated after alleged bomb threat, police say

LAYTON — Two Layton stores were evacuated after a reported bomb threat was called in Monday afternoon, Layton Police officials said.

The call came in at 1:42 p.m. Sgt. Rod Dixon with Layton Police said a man called stating there was a bomb in a Barnes & Noble, 1780 Woodland Drive.

The bookstore was evacuated as well as a nearby Old Navy as a precaution, Dixon said.

Police found nothing after searching the building. Patrons were allowed back into the stores at 2:28 p.m.

Dixon said police do not know where the call originated from.
