SALT LAKE CITY -- Emeritus Senior Living in Salt Lake City held a "Brain Health Fair" last month to educate the public about brain health and ways to prevent dementia.

Participants visited interactive booths to learn from experts about ways to improve brain health through physical activity, nutrition, spirituality, socialization and mental stimulation.

"Right now one in three seniors, those are individuals over the age of 80, dies of some form of dementia," said Elaine Martini, Associate Director of Development at Alzheimer's Association, Utah Chapter.

According to a posting on the Alzheimer's Association website, Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and more than 5 million Americans are currently living with the disease.
