Animal adoption event featured cats rescued from Brigham City apartment

Posted

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah –  Some of the approximately 40 cats who were rescued last month from a Brigham City apartmenthave found new homes after a pet adoption event held this weekend.

The event at the West Valley City Petco featured 25 felines, and nine of them were adopted out.

Utah Animal Adoption Center officials said they helped get the felines healthy and ready to meet their future families.

Javier Alegre is the research development director for the Utah Animal Adoption Center, and he said they work hard to find homes for the animals.

“Not only the rescue animals area available for adoption, but we also have a program called Home for the Holidays,” he said. “All our senior cats are available to free to the right homes and to the right people.”

The cats who were not adopted at the event will return to the animal shelter, where they will be available for adoption.
