WOOSTER, Ohio (WJW) — A grieving father looked stunned as he attempted to put the loss of his daughter into words.
Richard Murphy Jr. spoke with Fox 8 News in Cleveland right after the suspect in his daughter’s murder was arraigned Monday.
“This is my daughter that this happened to. I don’t know what to say about it, I don’t even know what to think about it, I just wish it wouldn’t have happened,” Murphy said.
Reann Murphy, 9, of Smithville, was reported missing Saturday. Hours later, her body was found in a dumpster in the mobile home community where she lived with her mother.
“I watched them take my daughter out of the trash can,” Richard Murphy, who lives in Creston, said.
He joined the search in Smithville for about seven hours before the discovery was made.
