NEW YORK (CNN) — The Connecticut State Police Friday issued its lengthy final report — including photos, audio and video — on the investigation of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
It comes more than a year after gunman Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 first-graders and six staff members at the Newtown school.
The redacted report, several thousand pages long, contains text, photos and 911 calls that chronicle the massacre.
Lanza, 20, killed the children and staff members with a semi-automatic rifle at the elementary school on December 14, 2012. Earlier, he killed his mother inside their home. He committed suicide with a handgun as police arrived at the school.
Earlier this month, authorities released audio recordings of 911 calls from the day of attack, the second-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history.
Last month, prosecutors issued a summary of the investigation that described Lanza as obsessed with mass murders, but concluded that his motives for the massacre might never be known.
