Utah State Parks is hosting a snowmobile open house in January to celebrate Snowmobile Safety Week.
The open house will take place Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Soldier Hollow Club House at Wasatch Mountain State Park.
Youth ages 8 to 15 are invited to take free snowmobile education courses from 9-11 a.m. or noon to 2 p.m., according to a press release from Utah State Parks. The Utah Avalanche Center staff will also offer a free avalanche safety course from 11 a.m. to noon.
The avalanche safety course is free and open to everyone.
Utah law requires youth ages 8 to 15 to complete a Utah State Parks snowmobile education course before operating on public lands, roads or trails, the release stated.
