LAYTON, Utah – Friends and family gathered on Sunday to remember a man who was hit and killed on Interstate 15.

29-year-old James Flynn was leaving Davis Medical Center on Thursday when he climbed a fence and ran onto the freeway. Troopers say Flynn was dodging cars before he was hit and killed.

Friends say he will be greatly missed.

“I always loved James. He always had a laugh. He always was smiling. If somebody was down, he did whatever it took to make them better,” said Amber Miller.

Police have not said why Flynn was at the hospital or why he ran onto the freeway.
