Controversial Alpine housing project approved

ALPINE — A 59-lot subdivision, located in Alpine, was approved Tuesday morning by Utah County Commissioners.

The project was approved because the developer, Patterson Homes, had met all legal requirements, said Commissioner Larry Ellertson.

The Planning Commission had recommended that the project, Lambert Park Subdivision, be denied Monday night.

Alpine residents in the area of the planned subdivision have been vocal about their opposition to the project. Flooding and landslides in the area has damaged many homes and residents believe history could repeat itself with the new subdivision.
