SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker gave a State of the City address Wednesday, and he focused on Utah’s air quality.
Becker offered five proposed solutions to air quality problems and called on state lawmakers to take action to improve the air.
One suggestion is to update energy codes, passed in 2006, for buildings in the state. Other recommendations from Becker included making public transport more convenient, improving gasoline so it has lower amounts of sulfur in it, increasing taxes on gasoline, and setting stricter standards for air quality.
