WEST JORDAN, Utah -- An attempted abduction of students in West Jordan is causing alarm for parents, students and teachers.
The incident happened in a West Jordan neighborhood near Jordan Hills Elementary School.
Officers said two boys under the age of 10 told police they were walking home from school Friday when two Hispanic men in a gold colored car, possibly a Toyota or Honda, drove up next to them and told them to get in the car. The boys then reportedly refused, ran home and told their mom-- who then contacted police and school officials.
On Monday, Jordan Hills Elementary officials sent a note to parents asking them to be extra vigilant and observant. West Jordan Police increased security in the area.
"We beefed up the presence in the area-- just trying to make sure that we can reassure the kids that they're OK, trying to see if there is any suspects that match this description," West Jordan Police Chief Douglas Diamond said.
