A mother wrote a heartfelt thank you letter to a man who entertained her 3-year-old daughter, who has autism, during an airplane flight. The letter went viral online as the story of the man's simple kindness touched the hearts of many.
See the video above for an interview with the young girl's family.
The letter, “Dear ‘Daddy’ in Seat 16C Flight 1850 From Philly” is addressed to an unnamed man who Kate’s mother says dealt patiently and kindly with the young girl, despite Kate's difficulties with communication and social interaction.
She thanked the man for talking to her daughter and playing along with her and her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys. The letter reads in part:
“So, thank you. Thank you for not making me repeat those awful apologetic sentences that I so often say in public. Thank you for entertaining Kate so much that she had her most successful plane ride, yet. And, thank you for putting your papers away and playing turtles with our girl.”
