WVC police chase ends with arrest in Murray

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A police chase through the Salt Lake Valley led to an arrest Tuesday morning.

Police said around 1:45 a.m. they tried to stop a vehicle in the area of 2700 West and 3500 South in West Valley City. They said the driver would not stop and entered I-215 and exited the freeway at State Street in Murray.

Officers said numerous items were thrown from the car during the chase. They said the items were recovered and discovered to be narcotics.

Officers were able to spike all four tires. Three of the four people in the vehicle tried to flee on foot, but were apprehended by officers.

The driver, identified as Stevan Hernandez, 24, was booked into jail for fleeing officers and other unrelated warrants.
