SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Fire Department reports a basement daycare with nearly 20 children was evacuated Monday due to a structure fire.
Fire officials responded to 1760 S 1100 E around 1 p.m.
Investigators determined the cause of the smoke was from a faulty furnace, according to a tweet from the fire department. The smoke dissipated once power from the building was cut off.
The building has since been turned over to the owner at of 3 p.m.
Two fire agencies responded to the scene.
