UTA giving away thousands of free rides in effort to reduce pollution

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Transit Authority is teaming up with the Utah Clean Air Partnership to give away 5,000 free public transportation passes to Utahns as part of an effort to reduce air pollution.

The RideClear passes can be used for seven consecutive days between Feb. 17 and March 31, and the passes allow for unlimited rides on UTA trains and buses during the seven-day span, which begins the first day the pass is used.

UTA officials said they hope the program will help promote the use of public transportation, which helps eliminate 120,000 vehicle trips each day.

According to their website, there will be three pass giveaways.  For more information about the pass giveaways, click here.
