SALT LAKE CITY –A man was transported to an area hospital in fair condition after a skiing accident Friday.
Search and rescue crews were dispatched to Little Cottonwood Canyon Friday night after the skier broke his leg.
Personnel from the Salt Lake County Search and Rescue Team were dispatched shortly before 8 p.m. after reports a man had broken his leg in a fall.
The man was in the Tanner’s Gulch area, which is near Snowbird. He told officials he believed he was on a cliff. A medical helicopter was called in to assist in the search.
Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said the victim is a 31-year-old man who is visiting from out of state.
The man was taken to the University of Utah Hospital for treatment.
