SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – A man allegedly approached a car dealership about taking a test drive Saturday, but when the salesman returned with the keys the man presented a gun and stole the car.
Sgt. Matt Budd of the South Salt Lake Police Department said the incident occurred around noon at C.J. Prestman Autosales, located at 2865 South State Street.
Budd said the suspect asked to test drive a car, and the salesman asked the man to come into the business and fill out some paperwork. The suspect refused and asked for the keys.
The salesman went inside, and when he returned with the keys the suspect was holding a gun in his hand. The suspect snatched the keys and fled in a silver Lexus.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, was last seen in the area near 1300 East 2700 South.
