Hundreds without power in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — A lightning caused power outage in Salt Lake City initially left about 3,000 people without power Thursday night, but shortly before 8 p.m. power had been restored to all but about 300 customers.

According to Rocky Mountain Power’s website, the outages is in the area of zip code 84102, and the number of affected people is down to an estimated 304, compared to the original 3,157.

Crews are on the scene, and power is expected to be restored by 9 p.m. Thursday, according to Rocky Mountain Power.
