TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – Two teen boys were rescued Sunday after the slab of ice they were playing on floated away from shore on Grantsville Reservoir.
Officers said the two 13-year-old boys were playing on ice near the shore when the wind picked up and carried the sheet of ice out into the water.
Multiple agencies responded, and two rescue swimmers swam out and retrieved the boys by using ropes and boards. The teens were taken to a local hospital as a precaution, and both are expected to be OK.
