ST. GEORGE, Utah – lanes will be closed along I-15 in the Virgin River Gorge beginning Monday as crews work to repair bridges and widen roads in the area.

The Arizona Department of Transportation will shut down some lanes in both directions, and crews will work on several bridges, one of which is 15 miles south of St. George.

According to a press release from ADOT, motorists traveling between St. George and Mesquite, Nevada, should plan for delays in both directions. Various lane closures will be in effect, and officials said people should plan on an extra 15 minutes of travel time in the area between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays.

Some of the roads in the area will also be widened.

The various construction projects are expected to continue through mid-April.
