Resolution passed by Utah House begins first steps in Stericycle relocation

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah State House of Representatives has passed a resolution that begins the first steps to moving Stericycle out of North Salt Lake.

Members of the house voted unanimously for the resolution that would clear the way for Stericycle to relocate.

Officials with the medical incinerator have said in recent weeks they are looking at relocating to Tooele County. A lawmaker representing that area says he supports the resolution.

The resolution will go on to the Senate.

Stericycle has been the target of several protests made up of environmental activists and residents near the facility.
